    Dancing, dancing and more dancing...

Hehe...  can't believe it's been so long since my last blog.  I must only update this once a year or something - check back again next year!!!!!  :)

    Anyway....

I had an absolutely fantastic weekend this week.  We went to a special by-invite-only Salsa Masterclass Workshop which ran for two hours, where we learned about spinning techniques and some wicked turn patterns.  Nice!!  I'm less dizzy after attempting spins now, but have yet to master the art of staring at one spot while the rest of my body spins... tricky...

Both my hun & I got commendations from the teachers for picking it up really quickly (we couldn't go to the first two masterclasses, where they'd learnt most of the moves)... my babe especially!  I also got offered a business card from the editor of one of the more prominent London salsa magazines (she was also in the class); she asked us to give her a call if my babe and I went dancing!  :)

Straight after that, we rushed off to prepare for our very first Latin and Ballroom ball!  This was organised by the dance school we go to; the food was nice, the location was lovely (especially loved the glass chandaliers and dimmed lights), the people we were with were great, and the dancing even better!

I think I'm finally understanding now...  in the class (L&B), you move in prescribed sequences, with precise angles and movements - but when you come to freestyling on a floor full of people, you can mix and match more..

    Kind of like salsa.  :)

The night was fantastic.. there was live music played by Ross Mitchell and his band, and a cabaret by Roberto Villa & Morena Colagreco of Italy; my GOD those two are amazing....  how the heck do they move like that..!!!!

But best of all... my babe & me kinda stole the limelight for a moment... hehehe....

The night was for Latin and Ballroom... and someone (not us) had requested a salsa song while we were on the dance floor...  oh dear (this is where we get started.. ).  The floor emptied, and there were only 6 couples on the floor, as the other hundred or so couples don't salsa... haha....

Somehow, we managed to nick the centre of the floor, while the other couples danced around one side of the dance floor..?  How did that happen?  The song was blindingly fast, but we kept up..  and not only did we keep up, we completely pulled it off!!!  We were awesome...  babe, we were absolutely amazing..!

And I have to say, you look absolutely stunning.......

  • My hun asked me to take this test, and guess what... :)

We picked totally different answers, but ended up as the same animal!!

    You Are A: Kitten!

kitty catCute as can be, kittens are playful, mischevious, and ever-curious. Your mischevious side is part of what makes you a kitten, as is your dislike of getting wet! Kittens are often loving, but are known to scratch or bite when annoyed. These adorable animals are the most popular pets in the United States--37% of American households have at least one cat. Whether it is your gentle purr or your disarming appearance, you make a wonderful kitten.

You were almost a: Puppy or a Bear Cub

  • Welcome to my first blog!  Writing blogs is a novelty for me - I've been working on web developments for three years, but still am yet to start one up!  (OK, you caught me out - I setup a blog template on friendster, but never really got round to doing anything with it!).  Click here to go to sleepyGee's friendster page!

I'm also an avid fan of manga and anime, and recently (with the help of my absolutely gorgeous hunny) got the entire set of Love Hina!!  This was back when the major bookstore outlets started realising that japanese anime 'sold', and sold by the boxload - most major bookstores in the UK now stock anime!

It's a bit pricey though, when you consider that getting the Love Hina series (14 volumes) will probably cost you £98, whereas the entire set of DVDs for all the seasons of SATC costs £120 - ouch!

But I guess it really is "that" good, and my hun agrees with me too, so...  ~.~

    Ciao for now!
